Is Bigen™ Speedy Hair Color Permanent Hair Color?

The coloring effect will generally last for 1 month or more without fading; please note that the average 1 month duration will be shortened by certain activities such as, swimming in a chlorinated pool daily or frequent exposure to strong sunlight.
What are the features and advantages for using Bigen™ Speedy hair color?
Bigen™ Speedy Hair Color is in an easy to use cream format, with a special comb (with 2 rows of teeth.) Simply squeeze equal amount of cream from each of the 2 tubes onto the comb to apply on your dry hair. Wait for 5 minutes (20 minutes for C and LC). Then rinse hair clean, and shampoo as usual. Remember, you can keep what’s left in the tube for your next application!
Would Bigen™ Powder hair color lighten my natural hair color?
The N (Black), S (Brown Black) and B (Natural Brown) Bigen™ Speedy Hair Color are designed to cover gray or white hair with your desired darker color. It does not lift your hair to a lighter shade.

The C (Chesnut) and LC (Light Chestnut) have gentle lifting power; they can gradually lighten your hair color to desired shade with repeat use (2 – 3 application.) It should be noted that you should always allow at least 1 week interval between hair coloring applications.

Can I use Bigen™ Powder Hair Color to change my natural hair color to a lighter color, like changing black hair to chestnut color?
Bigen™ Powder Hair Color does not contain bleach. It is used for covering gray or white hair with a darker color, or turning a lighter hair color to a darker, richer color. It does not bleach (lighten or lift) your hair to a lighter shade.

Would Bigen™ Silk Touch lightened my Natural Hair Color?
Bigen™ Silk Touch Hair Color can lighten your natural hair color to another shade. Repeated application may be necessary to achieve your desired color, especially when your current hair color is much darker than the Silk-touch color of your choice. Meantime, please also remember to allow a 1 week interval between hair color applications.
Can I change my hair to a lighter color - after I colored them to a dark color?
In general, permanent hair color product is difficult to remove. If you want to remove it immediately after application instead of waiting for it to fade out, you should go to a professional at a hair salon. Professional Hair Stylists would have the training to remove permanent color from hair.
What can be done if the coloring effect is darker than I expected?
Since permanent hair color product are designed not to fade easily. Once hair is it cannot be lightened right away without the help from professional stylist. Otherwise, it would be a good idea to wait for new hair to grow out, or for the color to gradually fade, in a month or so, before you apply a lighter hair color.

If you have recently perm, or colored or relaxed your hair. The coloring result may appear much stronger and darker at first, and then quickly turn lighter in about a week. This lighter shade will stay for the month. It is better to wait and see.
What should I do if my hair color turns out too bright after applying hair color?
If the color result is lighter than the desired color, you apply a darker hair color to over-color it. However, re-coloring right afterward will lead to hair damage and irritation to scalp. Always remember to allow at least a week interval between coloring your hair.

Please Note: It will be very difficult to lighten up or remove a permanent hair color again once it is applied (see above), not even by bleaching in some cases. Please monitor hair color during application when color is developing (darkening), and do not leave hair color product on hair for more time than indicated on the instruction.
What is the skin allergy test?
To check to see whether you may get an allergic reaction or not, a skin allergy must be conducted, 48 hours (2 days) prior to the usage of a permanent hair color product. By mixing a small amount of hair color and apply to the back of your hand

Skin allergy test is done by applying small amount of hair color by a q-tip on your wrist, or inside elbow or behind-ear for 48 hours prior to applying a hair color product. This test must be done for all self-use hair color product to help ensure against allergic reaction.
What do I do if there is an allergic reaction or rash?
If an allergic reaction develops (eg. Rash), do not use any medicine on your own. See a doctor or dermatologist immediately. Delayed or improper treatment can lead to symptoms persisting for longer period of time. Early recognition and treatment is important.
Can a hair color product be used on wet hair?
No, if the hair color mixture is applied to wet hair, the mixture will drip. Always use hair color products on dry hair. If hair is dirty, oily, or has excessive hair styling product buildup, wash your hair the day before application.
If I want to color my hair and get a perm, which is the one to be conducted first?
Perm your hair first, before coloring your hair. Remember to wait a least 1 week after perm before coloring hair. Coloring your hair immediately after perm will cause color-fading.
Why should people during menstruation or pregnancy not use a hair color product?
Your skin would be very sensitive during pregnancy or menstruation, and skin irritation may develop. It is not recommended to color your hair during these times.
Can I use permanent hair color on hair colored by a semi-permanent hair color?
If the semi-permanent hair color on your hair is a close in shade to the permanent color you would like to use, then there is not any problem. However if the semi-permanent hair color is drastically different from the permanent color, it would not work.

It is also important to remember hair colored with henna does not work well with most permanent hair color including Bigen™ products, henna interacts with permanent hair color and will affect the coloring effect.
Can I use hair color products to color beard and moustache?
Do not use hair color products to color beard, moustache, eyelashes, eyebrows, or any part of the body other than hair of your head. Facial hair is very sensitive, and a skin irritation may occur. If the product comes into contact with your eyes when you are coloring facial hair, there can be severe injury.
If I mix 2 different colors, will I get the color in between?
No, hair color is not paint, it works by chemical reaction. Mixing two colors will not yield a shade in between the 2. Mixing hair color is not recommended.
Why do the whitish color of the 2 creams of Speedy hair color change to brown or black once they are mixed?
Speedy Hair color (cream) works through a special chemical reaction called oxidative polymerization. The cream appears white, yellow or red before they are mixed, the product color result will be the color indicated on the package.
Would leaving hair-coloring product on my hair longer than recommended time cause any damage?
Yes. It may be harmful to your hair and/or your scalp. The effect would differ for different types of hair color products, hair type, the condition of hair before coloring, or the amount of mixture applied on hair, please follow the time indicated on instruction.
What should I do if the mixture gets on skin?
If the mixture gets on skin, wipe it off with a wet cotton ball. If the stain does not come off, wet cotton ball with soap and water to clean stained area. Should the stain still remains, it will naturally come off within a few days.

Tips: To prevent staining of skin, we recommend to apply Cold Cream before applying hair color on areas where the mixture may get on, such as hairlines and ears.
What should I do if the cream or mixture gets on the floor?
If the cream or mixture of a hair color product gets on the floor, wipe off immediately, and clean with a mild detergent or soap. If there is a stain, wet cotton swab with a diluted chlorine-based bleach. However, be mindful that chlorine based bleach may also cause damage or discoloration to certain flooring material. Do not Apply bleach on wooden floor. Cover floor and other exposed surfaces such as countertop to avoid staining when using hair color.
Can I save the mixture if there are any left over?
Bigen™ Speedy and Bigen™ Silk Touch can be saved for future use as long as the cream or liquid are still in its original container and had not been mixed with each other. Once mixed, the mixture of the 2 creams (Speedy) or cream and liquid (Silk Touch) would have been activated for use as hair color; and will lose its coloring property over time. This is also true for Bigen™ Powder after it is mixed with water. Please discard any leftover mixture.

Caution: Do not store any mixture of colorant and developer in sealed container. The chemical reaction from the mixture produces gases that could build the air pressure to dangerous level causing the container to burst.
Can I save the coloring agents if they are in the original tube or container, not mixed?
If the colorant and developer are not mixed and are stored in their original containers, they can be saved for future use. Please keep the container tightly capped once they are opened.

Please note that the cream near the opening of the tube may be discolored, this does not affect its coloring property. For Bigen™ Speedy Hair Color, please be sure to cap the Colorant tube with the original cap of the Colorant tube and likewise, cap the Developer tube with the original cap for the developer tube.
How should I discard the remaining mixture?
Once the Colorant cream and Developer of Bigen™ Speedy or Bigen™ Silk Touch are mixed, the mixture will be activated and has hair coloring property, and its coloring property will dissipate over time. Further, DO NOT store any mixture of colorant and developer in sealed container. The chemical reaction from the mixture produces gases that could burst the bottle. Please wash any leftover mixture down the sewage drain.
What is the correct way to treat hair after hair coloring?
Rinse out the mixture thoroughly from hair. Always use lukewarm water, do not use very hot water. Then, shampoo, condition and treat hair to prevent fading. Proper treatment will help extend coloring effect.
